What: A Kids Ride in Prospect Park
When: Monday, Oct. 9 (Columbus Day)
Start: 8:30 a.m. Photo op, followed by a ride of the Prospect Park loop!
Where: Grand Army Plaza entrance
A day-off from school is a perfect day for riding your bike around Prospect Park.
Ride with KiDiCAL MASS NYC in Prospect Park on Monday morning. All ages are welcome. (All kids on their own bikes must know how to stop.)
Please note that we will be riding in the park while there are cars on the East Loop. Community members are working to eliminate vehicular traffic in the park so cyclists and families can ride more, and safely. Monday's ride is part of this awareness effort!
If you don't ride, but want to take part, we will be taking photos before the ride (approx. 8:30 a.m.).
We will meet at 8:15 a.m. at the Grand Army Plaza entrance and ride through the park as a group.
NYPD will be sending a couple of their own officers riding their bikes from the 78th precinct with the group.
Transportation Alternative's Brooklyn Community Organizer Lark Lo, your advocate for walking and biking in NYC, will be there as a point person for parents and kids to approach her about their safety and traffic concerns, specifically for the PS 9 community given what happened to one of our own families earlier this week.
